On April 30, 2007, one lucky entrant will win a trip for two from anywhere in the continental 48 states to the breathtaking island of Vinalhaven, off Maine’s storied coast. The island’s scenery is the beautiful backdrop to the film, ISLANDER, coming to select theatres March 9th (Click here for the movie’s website).

PRIZE DETAILS

Winner will receive airfare for two from anywhere in the continental United States to Portland, ME, and car service to the Vinalhaven Ferry in Rockland. The picturesque ferry ride will transport Winners through pine-forested islands and among lobstermen’s boats to the town of Vinalhaven, a working lobster fishing community and Maine’s largest offshore town.

Winners will stay two nights at the Payne Homestead B&B at the Moses Webster House. This French Victorian home was built in 1873 by granite magnate Moses Webster. The elite house boasts the splendor of the era, yet preserves the casual comfort of island lifestyle. It is now on the National Register of Historic Places. Winners will enjoy the nurturing atmosphere of the Homestead’s accommodations and the peaceful scenery and water views from the gardens.

Winners are invited to take a beautiful, short kayak tour to one of the nearby islands with Vinalhaven’s famous Sea Escape Kayak and their leaders, Linda and Burke Lynch. Paddle in and out of coves, and stop on an island for a short rest and snack, then return home feeling refreshed and renewed.

Many who have made the trip to Vinalhaven have become island regulars, returning year after year, so prepare to be seduced by the beauty and simplicity of this marvelous island escape.
